A Sign Type —which on some screens you will see as Model— is the class of sign you use, not the sign itself.
For example: "1×2 metal sheet with logo", "small vinyl banner", "construction site sign".
Think of it as the make and model of a car. It is defined once and serves every identical sign; then each physical sign has its own code, which would be the license plate.
Creating sign types requires the Pro+ plan or higher. With any plan you can enter the module and view the inventory. See the plan comparison.
Why you have to create it first
It is the only required step before loading your first sign: when you add a sign, the system asks which Type it belongs to. With no Type loaded, you cannot continue.
It is done only once. If your whole agency uses a single sign model, you will have a single Type and you will never come back to this screen again.

Creating a Sign Type
New model button. The fields:

The name is the only required field. The operation can be left empty: a generic sign —just the logo and the phone number— does not say sale or rental, and the system accepts it. In the list it appears marked as No operation, and you can fill it in whenever you want.
The list
Each Type shows its name, the operation it advertises —or No operation, if you did not load it—, its dimensions if you loaded them, and how many signs use it.
That count is the piece of data that makes the decision to retire it an informed one.
Editing and retiring
- ✎ Edit: changes the name, the operation or the dimensions.
- 🗑 Retire: the Type is no longer offered when loading new signs.
Retiring a Type does not delete the signs that use it. Those signs still exist and work just the same; the only thing that happens is that the Type is no longer offered for new entries.
If the Type has signs associated with it, the system warns you and tells you how many before you confirm.
