New property
Loading a new property in Mapaprop is done through a 5-step wizard that guides you from the basic data to publication. The form divides the information into 4 groups (General, Prices, Details, Description) and, once saved, it is completed with a map location and photos.
Automatic draft: The form automatically saves a draft in your browser while you fill in the fields. If you close the page without saving, when you come back you will be asked whether you want to continue with the saved draft (showing the code and address). The draft is automatically deleted when you save the property or reset the form.
Shortcuts: two quick ways with AI
Before you start filling in field by field, consider using one of the two available shortcuts that take advantage of artificial intelligence:
1. Fill in with AI from text (at the start of the form)
If you already have a text with the property's data — for example, the owner's copy sent via WhatsApp, the description from another portal, a listing from another CRM system, or an email with data — you can use the "Fill in with AI from text" button that appears above the wizard when loading a new property.
How it works:
- Click the "Fill in with AI from text" button.
- A modal opens with a large text field.
- Paste any text with the property's data (up to 10,000 characters).
- Press "Process with AI" and wait a few seconds.
- The modal closes automatically and the form is auto-filled with the detected fields (type, operation, price, address, m², rooms, age, description, code, etc.).
The AI only fills in the fields that are empty in the form. If you already typed something by hand, it won't be overwritten. It is safe to use it even if you have already started loading data.
Important details:
- Consumes tokens from your AI plan (each extraction uses approximately 1,500–2,500 tokens, depending on the length of the text).
- Works with text from any portal (Argenprop, Zonaprop, MercadoLibre), the owner's WhatsApp copy, CRM listings, emails, etc.
- Automatically detects the property code if it appears as "FICHA 2209", "REF: ABC-123", "Cód: 5678", "Propiedad Nº 999" or other similar formats.
- Automatically filters out contractual information (tenant requirements, move-in expenses, reservation clauses, legal notes) — none of that appears in the generated description.
- Filters prices out of the description body (the price stays in its own field).
- Available for plans with active AI: Plus, Pro+, Business and variants.
For users without access to AI (Free plan), the button shows an alert to upgrade your plan. See Manage my plan.
2. Generate description with AI (in the Description step)
In group 4 of the form, next to the description field, there is a "Generate with AI" button that creates a professional commercial description using the data you already filled in the previous groups.
How it works:
- Complete groups 1, 2 and 3 (property type, operation, location, price, rooms, etc.).
- In group 4 (Description), click "Generate with AI".
- The AI generates a professional description based on all the data you loaded.
- The text appears in the description field ready to review and edit.
Important details:
- Requires at least property type and operation type to be completed before generating.
- Consumes tokens from your AI plan.
- The remaining token counter appears next to the button.
- You can manually edit the generated description before saving.
See more details in AI text generation.
Adding a new property step by step
The first form requires a minimum amount of data in order to be saved. We recommend completing as much information as possible to get better results when publishing.
Required fields
Pay attention to the required field alerts: they block the option to Save the property until all of them are completed.
All required fields are marked with a red asterisk (*). Incomplete fields are highlighted in red and show a validation message when you try to move on to the next group or save.
1. Click the Add button
From the Mapaprop Panel, in the main menu click the Add > New Property button. You can also do it from My Properties.
2. Enter the required information and save
The listing form consists of 4 groups of information. Complete the required data of each group and then click Validate and Continue to move on to the next one.
Group 1 > General Information
Here go the basic data: code, branch, title, operation type, property type, address, postal code and zones.
Choosing a zone with the selector or quick search
When searching for zones, it is important that you select a zone from the list only. Otherwise the system will not accept the zone. You can switch to the Zone Selector if you prefer the traditional format.
The zone selector is a traditional model that searches by hierarchy: Country > Province / State > Municipality / Department > Neighborhood / Locality.
Sharing with your own URL
You can enter the URL of the property listing from another website or publishing system (for example your website with another provider), to later use the Share Properties functions.
Validate and continue
Always enter the required property information so that the Validate and Continue button is enabled and you can move on to the next group.
If you do not complete the required fields, the Validate and Continue buttons will not be enabled.
Group 2 > Prices and conditions
In this step you must complete the price. If the operation is Temporary Rental, occupancy and payment period are also requested.
For properties for Rent you can also include the amount of expenses (HOA fees) and their currency.
Group 3 > Details
If you completed groups 1 and 2 correctly, you will be able to move on to group 3. We recommend filling in as much information as possible in the Details group: rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, age, surfaces, orientation, location within the building, balcony type, heating, air conditioning, hot water, garage, additional features (suitable for professional use, mortgage-eligible, pet-friendly, etc.).
The more information you include, the better the quality of the listing when it is published on your website and on the portals.
Group 4 > Description
Write the required description (minimum 20 characters). You have two options:
- Write by hand: write the description directly.
- Generate with AI: use the "Generate with AI" button so artificial intelligence creates a professional commercial description using the data from the previous groups. See AI text generation.
Save and continue
Once all fields are completed, the Save button is enabled. A confirmation will appear. If you save, you will automatically continue with the map location step.
3. Geolocate the property
When you click Save, a new property wizard starts that guides you to the map location. The map location is required.
The location is automatic based on the address and zones you loaded, but you can modify it by clicking on the map to reposition the icon.
If the location icon does not match the actual location of the address, you can navigate the map and click on another location. This will relocate the icon. If you also want to go back to the automatically read location, you can click Auto-locate. Once you are satisfied, click Continue with images.
For more information about handling the map, read the Map help.
4. Add photos
After geolocating the property you can add photos. You can upload as many photos as you want, even take them directly from your mobile device. You should add at least one photo.
| Feature | Value |
|---|---|
| Maximum size per photo | 10 MB |
| Accepted formats | .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png |
| Maximum quantity | No limit |
Do not publish properties without a photo. Upload at least one photo when loading the property. Publishing properties without a photo on Facebook prevents them from being automatically added to Facebook.
The first image you upload will automatically be set as the main image. You can delete or view the photos at any time. When you finish, click View and Publish to access the listing and finish editing.
Some advanced functions, such as sorting Images, require a Subscription.
5. Publish or continue editing
The last step takes you to the property listing. If you have more information you can Edit the property before Publishing.
Quote a property
Mapaprop offers the Quote Property feature, which relies on the Historical Price Map. Operation, type, zones and currency are the minimum required fields to use it.
Search for prices of similar properties with our Quote Property system, part of our Information Systems.
Special cases
Real estate development mode
If you are loading a real estate development (a to-be-built project with multiple units), use the specific option from Add > New Development. This changes the form to development mode with different fields. See New Development / Project.
Vendor isolation
If your user is a vendor (role customer:vendor), the property's branch is automatically assigned to your assigned branch and you cannot change it. If you are an administrator or manager you can choose any branch of the account.
Special validations
| Field | Validation |
|---|---|
| Code | Unique per client. If the code already exists, the system warns you before saving. |
| Title | Minimum 20 characters. |
| Description | Minimum 20 characters (maximum 4,000). |
| Price | Required. If you don't have a clear price, use "Price on request" mode. |
| Zones (zone0/1/2/3) | Required. Zone3 only if the city has defined neighborhoods. |
| Surfaces | Required. Use 0 if not applicable (e.g., studio apartment with no land). |
