Share Property

User guide for the system to share properties from your account to social networks, email, and other channels.

What does it do?

From any property in your account, you can share it in one click to social networks, messaging, or email. The system creates the correct link according to your configuration and sends it to the chosen channel.

Copy link and Facebook are free for all plans. The rest require Plus, Pro, or Business. If you click on a premium channel without the plan, the app shows you the upgrade screen.

The system automatically chooses the best link according to what you have configured. The first available from this list is used:

1. If you uploaded your own external URL in the property

That exact URL is shared. Useful for redirecting to a campaign landing page, a microsite, or any page of yours.

2. If not, and you have a website in Mapaprop

The link to the property within your website, on your domain, is shared.

If you have multiple sites or domains configured, the app will ask you which one to use before sending.

3. If you have none of the above

The link to your brand's public portal is shared, where the property is listed with all its details.

Important exception: when you are using "Share with branch identity" (see below), priorities 1 and 2 do not apply. The link always points to the brand portal, regardless of whether you have your own external URL or your own website. This is because identity replacement only works on Mapaprop brand portals — your own websites do not understand the branch parameter and would show the original owner's data.

Requirements for share options to appear

Share actions, send by email, and QR code only appear when the property is published. If the property is set as "Not published" (or is still in pending moderation):

  • In the property listing, share actions disappear from the three-dot menu.
  • In the property details and publication panel, the Share button is hidden.
  • Internal actions (notes, contacts, reservations, statistics) remain available because they do not depend on the public URL.

This applies to all roles (administrator, manager, salesperson) and to any type of property. Reason: an unpublished property is not accessible from the portal, so the shared link would land on an empty page or an error.

Special case: share by email

Email to contact works differently from other channels. Instead of opening your email client, Mapaprop sends the email directly from its servers.

The flow is:

  1. You search for the contact from your database or create a new one.
  2. You confirm.
  3. The contact receives an email with subject "{your real estate agency} has shared a property" and a link to the property.

Additionally, the contact is automatically registered as interested in that property in your CRM.

Limitation to know: the link inside the email does not respect your brand or your own website — it always points to a Mapaprop view. If your account belongs to a Real Estate Network or you have your own site, the email recipient will see a Mapaprop link, not yours. This is a known limitation and is pending improvement. Meanwhile, if you want them to reach your site, use the other channels (WhatsApp, copy link, etc.) instead of email.

Real Estate Networks

If you work with a partner brand (Real Estate Network), when you do not have your own website the shared links lead to your brand's portal, not to Mapaprop's.

This works automatically on all channels except email (see previous section).

Share with your branch identity (Business Manager Networks)

If you work with an assigned branch in an office connected to a network with a Business Manager plan and the owner of that network activated the option "Share with branch identity", the sharing flow changes: when you are viewing a property that is not from your branch, the normal Share button is hidden and "Share with my branch" appears directly in its place.

When it applies:

  • Properties from another real estate agency in your MLS network (classic co-brokering case).
  • Properties from another branch of your same office (model where each branch is an agent that captures their own contacts).

In both cases the logic is the same: if you capture the contact, the listing the client receives must show your identity.

What it does: the generated link shows your branch (photo, name, link to your office) instead of the original owner's data when the client opens the property.

Where you will see it:

  • In the property listing (list view and grid view).
  • In the 3-dot menu of each property — the "Share" option is replaced by "Share with my branch".
  • In the network property details.
  • In the share modal when it applies (with a banner clarifying that you are sharing with your identity).

How the client sees it:

  • Opens the property on the brand portal as usual.
  • In the contact sidebar they see your branch: photo, name, link to your office.
  • The "Inquire / WhatsApp / Call" buttons do not appear — the client is already in contact with you through the channel where you shared the link.
  • There is a highlighted section with your name and a link to your office profile.

Requirements:

  • Have an assigned branch in your profile.
  • Your office must participate in an active network with a Business Manager plan and the option enabled.
  • The property must belong to the same enabled network as your office. If the property is only in networks where your office does not participate, or only in the generic Mapaprop Network (which does not have the option), the button does not appear.
  • The property must be from another branch (not yours). If it is from your branch, you see the normal share.
  • The owner's branch and yours must belong to active offices.
  • The property must be published (unpublished shows no share options).

Difference between salesperson and administrator:

  • Salesperson with branch: when the property is not from your branch, the normal share button is hidden and replaced by your identity one. You do not have the traditional share option for other people's properties — you can only share with your branch. This is on purpose: the contact you get belongs to you.
  • Administrator / owner / office manager: for properties from other branches of your same office, you maintain flexibility. The share modal offers you both options (traditional + with branch identity). For network properties (another real estate agency), the "Share with my Branch / Agent Identity" button appears directly as in the salesperson flow.

If any of these requirements are not met, the button does not appear — and you see the normal Share button.

Frequently asked questions

Can I choose which URL each share points to? Yes. Edit the property and fill in the "External web URL" field. That URL will be used for all channels (except email to contact).

Why does the email lead to Mapaprop and not to my site? Because email uses a separate system that is not yet integrated with white labels or your own websites. Pending correction. Meanwhile, use the other channels if you want the recipient to reach your site.

Do the QR and shares use the same link? Yes, in general. Both follow the same logic: your own external URL → your website → brand portal. The only exception is email, which uses a fixed Mapaprop link.

Does Mapaprop record how many times I share a property? Yes, each use of the share button is recorded in your statistics, indicating which channel it was shared through. The full URL is not saved when it is your own domain.

Can I share a property I have not yet published? Technically yes, it does not block you. But we do not recommend it: the recipient may encounter an empty page or an error if the property is not visible to the public.

What happens if I change the property title? Do the already shared links break? They do not break. Both the Mapaprop portal and the Associated Real Estate Networks portal identify properties by various data, so old links continue to work even if you change the title or address. If you have your own site, it depends on how that site is configured — most resolve the same way.

I have several websites configured, what happens when sharing? The app shows you a selector so you can choose which one to use. You can even check "remember this choice" so it does not always ask you.

What is the "Share with my branch" button that appears replacing the normal Share button? It is the "Share with your branch identity" functionality — available when your office participates in a network with a Business Manager plan and the option is activated. When it applies, the normal Share button is hidden and replaced by "Share with my branch", which creates a link showing your branch data instead of the property owner's. It applies to both properties from other offices in the network and properties from other branches of your own office. See the "Share with your branch identity" section above.

If I share with my branch identity, does the property owner receive the client's inquiry? In this version no — the Inquire / WhatsApp / Call buttons are hidden in that case, because you are already in contact with the client through the channel where you shared the link. Coordination with the property owner is done outside the system, according to the network or office rules. Adding the automatic lead flow is pending for later.
