Networks — Website publication

Two different configurations
Website publication is a configuration independent from the network's publication mode.
The publication mode (Manual / Automatic by default / Mandatory) decides whether your properties enter the network's shared catalog.
Website publication decides whether the network's properties appear on each member's website.
They are orthogonal: they're configured separately and don't affect each other. See "Network Publication Modes" for the former.

Some MLS networks allow shared properties to appear directly on each member's websites. This feature expands your website's catalog with your network colleagues' properties.

What network types support it

Website publication is a feature exclusive to MLS (collaborative) networks. Publication networks don't include it.

Additionally, this feature only applies to websites provided by Mapaprop or developed by third parties using the Mapaprop API.

Configuration modes

The network administrator defines how it works when creating the network:

Mandatory: all the network's properties appear automatically on your website. You can't turn it off.
Optional: you choose whether you want to show the network's properties on your website. You can turn it on or off from the network configuration.

Important: If website publication is mandatory, all the network's properties will automatically show up on your website. This configuration can't be changed by members.

You can view and change this option (when it's not mandatory) from your network connection's configuration. It can also be configured when you connect to the network from the Marketplace (see "Connect Networks (Marketplace)").

How network properties look on your website

With this feature active, your website will show properties from your network colleagues. When a visitor asks about a network property on your website:

The information about the property's listing broker is not shown.
Messages are sent to the website's owning broker (you).
The generated lead belongs to you, since it came in through your website.
The broker who owns the property receives a co-brokering notification in parallel so you can close the deal together. They get a heads-up that there was an inquiry about their property, not the lead as their own contact: the contact stays in your account.

The code of network properties

Network properties display their original code, with the prefix of the broker who owns the property. That's why on your website you'll see codes with a numeric prefix different from yours: it's not an error, it's that property's unique code across the whole system.

Your website's code search also finds network properties: the visitor can enter that code exactly as it appears on the detail page, with or without the prefix.

Your website's search tools include the network

With website publication active, all your website's search tools take network properties into account:

Code search: finds network properties by their code, with or without a prefix.
Filter by property type: also offers types that only exist on network properties (e.g., if a colleague has a Triplex and you don't, "Triplex" still appears as an option). Types are always shown with the names used in your country.
Filter by area: also offers areas where only network properties exist, in alphabetical order.

This way, everything your website's listing can show is also filterable and searchable.

SEO benefit: Expanded sitemaps

If your website shows network properties, the sitemaps will automatically include these additional properties. This significantly increases your site's indexable content and improves your search engine ranking.
