Static Pages (Home and Contact)
This help explains what the static pages of your website are, how they differ from the pages you create, and how to configure their SEO information.
What are static pages?
They are the fixed sections that come by default with all Mapaprop websites. Their visual content (texts, layout, functions) is defined by the site design and cannot be edited.
You can only edit their SEO information (keywords and description), because each page still needs to be well positioned in Google.
| Page | Public URL | Content |
|---|---|---|
| Home | yourdomain.com/ | Site homepage: hero, search, featured properties (depending on design) |
| Contact | yourdomain.com/contacto | General contact form |
Static pages cannot be deleted: they are required by the site. Therefore, in the page list the Delete button appears disabled for Home and Contact.
Other site sections (not editable from here)
Some designs include other sections that also come by default and are not edited from Pages, but from dedicated screens:
- Featured properties (
yourdomain.com/destacadosin some designs): managed from Featured Properties. - Blog (
yourdomain.com/blog): managed from Blog > Manage Posts.
Edit the SEO of Home or Contact
From Menu > Website > your website > My Pages you will see the static pages highlighted at the top of the list, with a gray background.
To edit them:
- Locate the row for Home or Contact in the list.
- Press the pencil icon (edit) in the row.
- The SEO editor for the static page opens.
You can also click the URL link (/ or /contacto) within the row to directly open the editor.
Fields you can edit
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Keywords | List of words separated by commas (e.g., real estate, landlords, sale, rentals, villa del parque). See Configure Keywords. |
| SEO Description | Short text (recommended ≤ 160 characters) that appears as a summary in Google results. See Write Optimized Texts. |
Fields you cannot edit
- Page Title (defined by the system).
- Menu text or order (Home and Contact always appear first and last respectively).
- Visual content (texts, sections, layout). That is defined by the site design.
If you need a custom message on the Contact page or deep changes to the Home, you can create your own page (for example, "About Us", "Services"). Your own pages do allow editing complete content.
Save changes
The Save button is at the bottom of the form. When you save:
- A green toast appears confirming it was saved.
- You remain in the editor: it does not redirect you to the list. You can continue adjusting.
- Changes are reflected on your website when Google re-indexes the page (may take between hours and days, depending on crawl frequency).
Made changes and don't see them reflected in Google?
Search engine indexing is not immediate. If you need to accelerate the process, use Google Search Console to request re-indexing of the URL.
