My MercadoLibre listing says "Payment required"

When you publish a property and choose a paid plan (Silver, Gold, Gold Premium) but you don't have a pack purchased on your MercadoLibre account, ML creates the listing but leaves it in "Payment required" status (payment_required). The listing isn't visible to buyers until you complete the payment on MercadoLibre.

Why does this happen?

MercadoLibre's paid plans (Silver, Gold, Gold Premium) work with a prepaid pack system: you buy a pack on MercadoLibre (e.g. "Silver x 5 listings per month") and from then on you can use that plan. If you publish with a paid plan without having purchased the pack yet, MercadoLibre accepts the listing but leaves it inactive while waiting for payment.

How to fix it

You have two options:

Option 1: Pay for the pack on MercadoLibre

  1. On the MercadoLibre card in the publication panel, click Complete payment (orange button).
  2. Your MercadoLibre account opens in a new tab, where you can purchase the pack for the chosen plan.
  3. Once the payment is complete, go back to Mapaprop and click Update status on the card. The listing should switch to Active automatically.

Option 2: Switch to the Free plan

If you'd rather not pay:

  1. On the MercadoLibre card, click the Cancel listing button (trash icon).
  2. Then click Republish or Publish and select the Free plan in the editor.
  3. Save and republish.

💡 The Free plan has a limited quota (typically 1-2 listings per account) and fewer features, but doesn't require payment.

How to avoid this happening again

Before choosing a paid plan when publishing:

  • Check that you have a pack purchased on your MercadoLibre account.
  • In the Mapaprop editor, plans with available quota appear highlighted (e.g. "Silver (3 available)"). If your chosen plan shows no quota, that's a sign you need to purchase more.
