Can I change the plan of a finished listing on MercadoLibre?

Yes. When a listing is in Finished (closed) status, you can change the publication plan and republish it from Mapaprop. MercadoLibre creates a new listing linked to the previous one and, under certain conditions, transfers the accumulated views and sales.

❌ While the listing is Active or Paused, MercadoLibre does not allow changing the plan. You need to finish the listing first.

Steps

  1. On the property's Publication panel, locate the MercadoLibre card. The listing must show the Finished badge (red).
  2. Click the Edit button (pencil icon) to open the editor.
  3. In the editor, scroll down to the Title and Plan section.
  4. In the Publication plan dropdown, choose the plan you want to use (Free, Silver, Gold, Premium Gold).
  5. Click Save. The change is saved in Mapaprop.
  6. Close the editor and, on the MercadoLibre card, click the Republish button (green ↻ icon).
  7. Confirm the action. Mapaprop asks MercadoLibre to create a new listing with the chosen plan.
  8. Done! If everything goes well, your listing moves to Active or In progress, depending on the plan and available quota.

What if I choose a paid plan but I don't have the pack contracted?

In that case, MercadoLibre creates the listing but leaves it in Payment required (payment_required) status until you contract the pack. Mapaprop shows you a Complete payment button that takes you to MercadoLibre. See My listing says "Payment required".

What gets transferred when republishing?

If the original listing was closed less than 60 days ago, MercadoLibre transfers:

  • ✅ Accumulated views
  • ✅ Sales (if any)
  • ✅ Formal link between the new listing and the previous one (better ML account reputation)

If more than 60 days have passed, the Republish button still works, but the stats start at zero. These exceptions apply:

  • The Free plan doesn't transfer views or sales, regardless of the time elapsed.

What CANNOT be changed when republishing?

  • ❌ Title: cannot be modified via Republish. If you want to change the title, you need to click Delete and then Publish a completely new listing from scratch.
  • ❌ Category: same as title. Requires deleting + publishing new.

Everything else (price, description, attributes, photos, location) can be adjusted before republishing.
